Stanford students step out for St Patrick's in San Fran

Members of Stanford University's Irish Association took part in the mammoth San Francisco St Patrick's Day parade on Saturday past.

Anthropology doctoral student and Association President Rachael Louise Healy said students and faculty were delighted to be able to step out lightly on the big day. "It was a hoot," she said, "and we even got our hands on some Tayto and a semi-decent pint of Guinness!"

Established in 2014, the Irish Association in the storied California college The Stanford Irish Association provides a forum for those with Irish heritage or an interest in Irish culture to come together.
