James Maynard, PhD is Curator of the Poetry Collection, the library of record for 20th- and 21st-century poetry in English, and Coordinator of the Rare & Special Books Collection at the University at Buffalo (UB) Libraries. In this role he directs the UB James Joyce Collection, the world’s largest and most comprehensive collection of manuscripts and other materials by and about the renowned Irish writer. In 2009 he helped organize the exhibition Discovering James Joyce: The University at Buffalo Collection and edited the exhibition catalogue of the same title. For the 100th anniversary of Ulysses in 2022, the Poetry Collection organized a number of centennial events and programs and collaborated with other celebrations around the world. James has written, edited, or contributed to more than 20 books, is the author or editor of numerous other publications, and has presented his works nationally and internationally.
