Shane Lowry’s expected defense of his Irish Open title will take place in an earlier slot next year with the K Club in County Kildare set to host the event from July 1-4. September has been the usual month for the Irish Open in recent years, but with Adare Manor hosting the Ryder Cup from Sept, 17-19 the date for Irish Open in 2027 has been brought forward and it will now be the first event on the DP World Tour’s “Closing Swing” series. The Kildare event will be held two weeks before the Open at St Andrew’s potentially making it a destination for more of the game’s top players.
