Part of the mission of Bowne House is to educate the public about Queens, New York City and American history through the story of nine generations of the same family that lived in the Flushing home from 1661 through the end of World War II, when it was bequeathed to the city. Now, added to the ever expanding program from Bowne House, which is a national shrine to religious tolerance, is a neighborhood walking tour. It’s led by Bowne House educator Emily Vieyra-Haley, who grew up in an Irish family in New York City, and her colleague Brandon Loo. The next tour will take place on Saturday, Nov. 14, from 1 p.m to 3 p.m. For information about tickets to this and to other events, go to bownehouse.org.
