A Photo Retrospective entitled "Sean McKernan's Belfast: Conflict to Peace," which documents the past forty years in Belfast, is opening this week at the New York Irish Center in Long Island City, Queens.
The exhibition will be on view October 20-27, 12 to 4 p.m. daily
Stated a release: "In this powerful and revealing photographic retrospective, renowned Belfast documentary photographer Sean McKernan has assembled a rare collection of images that depict four decades of the turbulent history of a deeply divided society and the arduous path to peace.
"Covering the period of hunger strikes of 1981 through the 1998 peace process, and even more modern images including post-Brexit and the disputes about the Irish language in Northern Ireland, these visually stunning images are both epic and highly personal."
