At the end of the 21 stage Tour de France Sunday, Ireland's Sam Bennett stood tall even as he sat on his bike. Not only did Bennett triumph in the final stage in Paris but he also secured the coveted Green Jersey, so following in the wheel marks of the great Sean Kelly who, like Bennett, is a son of Carrick-on-Suir. Bennett's stage win was his second in the tour which was moved from July to September due to Covid-19, but which enjoyed fine late summer weather for virtually all its three weeks of racing.
