Chicago Fest this weekend

Chicago Gaelic Park is gearing up for four days of everything Irish this Memorial Day weekend. Organizers of the annual Chicago Irish Fest are promising the best of traditional and contemporary Irish musical acts over the four days, Friday to Monday.

The festival, now a well established Chicago area tradition, also features a full carnival, special events for children, Gaelic football and hurling, dancing, pony and dog exhibits, shopping, Irish cultural exhibits and all of these backed up by a wide selection food and refreshment stands.

The acts on stage this year include Gaelic Storm and The Screaming Orphans.

Chicago Gaelic Park is located in Oak Forest, just outside the Chicago city limits.

A full day (and evening) pass to six musical stages, full carnival and parking is $15. Adults over 65 years and kids under 12 are only $12, while youngsters under 3 years are free.
