Timothy McGuire
Place of birth: Brooklyn, NY.
Job Description? 20-year veteran of the New York City fire department currently assigned to rescue company 5 which covers all of Staten Island and south Brooklyn.
Why I chose this career? There has never been anything else I’ve wanted to do then be a member of the FDNY. This department has taught me how to be a man, a husband, a father and how to appreciate how hard work pays off.
Proudest moment of my career? The proudest moment of my career was raising my right hand and taking the oath to be a member of the FDNY. That day I had no idea where me career would take me but I couldn’t be happier of where I am. The members and officers I have worked with have taught me how to carry myself in the traditions of the FDNY.
Something people would be surprised to know about me... If I wasn’t a firefighter I’d want to be a teacher.
