Sean Edwards

Job Description? FDNY Firefighter.

Why I chose this career? My dad worked as an emergency high voltage troubleshooter for Con Edison, and his work inspired me to get a career helping others. I got my first job was when I was 16 years old, working on Rockaway Beach as a NYC lifeguard, and the feeling I had after saving a life stuck with me forever. So I worked my way up, starting as a private service EMT, to 911 FDNY EMS, to finally an FDNY Firefighter.

Proudest moment of my career? I really have a hard time finding a single moment to be honest, but if I had to, it would honestly be the day I had officially graduated from the FDNY academy. I unfortunately had no ceremony, due to COVID, but I still felt immense pride in what I had accomplished.

Something people would be surprised to know about me... I’m actually a fairly successful graphic designer.
