Brian Hastings

Job Description? Recently retired project specialist assigned to Con Edison emergency preparedness. My focus was on exercises, training and liaison with our internal and external partners. I worked very closely with NYC agencies to ensure that any events that were planned that the utility company was involved and included in all the planning leading up to the event

Why I chose this career? After a 20-year career in the NYPD and being assigned to NYCOEM for 10 years I felt that I had a opportunity to contribute to the work force that I had been a part of and expand it further while working in Con Edison.

Proudest moment of my career? I would say that I really enjoyed conducting 101 classes. I hope that everyone that attended left knowing more than they did or thought they did. I also thought that when we were sent to restore power to Puerto Rico that was definitely a highlight of my career.
