Three of America's top labor figures will lead the guest list at the 16th annual Irish Echo Labor Awards in New York City on 18 September.
Sean O'Brien, President International Brotherhood of Teamsters, John Samuelsen, President TWU International and outgoing Service Employees International Union President Mary-Kay Henry will all address the 18 September gala in the Edison Ballroom.
14 honorees from across the nation will be saluted at the annual gathering which will also hear a video message from Gerry Adams, United Ireland campaigner and co-founder of the James Connolly trade union center in Belfast, Áras Uí Chonghaile. This year's awards evening will be preceded by a labor roundtable in the Consulate of Ireland to discuss transatlantic solidarity between American and Irish trade unions. Ethel Buckley, Deputy General Secretary of SIPTU, Ireland's largest trade union, is among invitees to the Roundtable.
