Munster and Ireland out-half Jack Crowley has been ruled out until after Christmas with the injury that ended his campaign last season. According to the province, Crowley has been assessed by specialists for a lower limb vascular injury and has been advised not to return until Jan 2027. Crowley finished this year’s Six Nations as Ireland’s first choice out-half and is arguably Munster's most important player, but he wasn’t able to play a part in their URC run-in or the Nations Championship games in July due to the unusual injury. Munster Head coach Clayton McMillan said getting the issue right is the priority. He said: ‘‘Jack is a very important player for Munster and Ireland with a big future in the game and ensuring he gets back to 100pc is the priority.’’ After Tony Butler left the province this summer, JJ Hanrahan and last year’s Ireland under 20 out-halves Tom Wood and Charlie O'Shea will likely start the season as Munster’s No 10s, as new signing Will Harrison injured his knee in pre-season. At international level Leinster’s Sam Prendergast seem to have regained the No. 10 jersey, but hopefully Crowley will be fully fit for selection in January or February.
