In his second appearance on a “Thrilla in Camilla” amateur card, former MSG Boxing Ring Masters 165-pound novice titlist Tim Egan meets Bronx firefighter Oliver Patrouch at St. Camillus Church in Rockaway Beach, Queens, on June 26.
Also on the Fire Department of New York-organized 10th anniversary show, is Egan’s Bua Boxing compatriot Declan Friel in a scrap with Emergency Medical Technician Patrick McKeown.
When finalized, the event, billed as “Celebrating a Decade of Beachside Boxing,” will feature a total of 12 bouts, said FDNY boxing club president Bobby McGuire.
Egan, a Queens resident out of Dundalk, was a points winner over the FDNY’s Andrew Tanzi in a special attraction match on last year’s June show.
He returns to action for the first time since losing to the nationally ranked Carmine Gentile in the Ring Masters’ 165-pound Elite division semi-finals in Brooklyn last March. It was his first defeat in the tournament over two years.
In Patrouch, Egan, who’s 31, faces a capable and rangy foe who dropped a points decision to Garda middleweight Eoin O’Connor in the third annual International Battle of the Badges at Madison Square Garden three months ago.
Friel, meanwhile, battles a fellow newcomer to the ring in the 29-year-old McKeown, who works out of Station 47 in the Bronx. It will be the third fight for either man as amateurs.
In his last bout last February, Friel, a 31-year-old Donegal transplant, put up a spirited fight before succumbing on points to Januel Cabrera in a 154-pound MSG Boxing Ring Masters novice class match.
It was his second amateur fight after joining Bua Boxing in March 2025 to lose weight. The other confirmed fights so far on the Thrilla in Camilla X card [FDNY boxers listed first] are:
Super welterweight - Brigado Rosado [Eng. 271] vs. Merrick Hickaro [Woodside Boxing Academy];
Cruiserweight – former EMT Kyle McGrath [Champs Boxing Club] vs.. Jeremy Witherspoon [Woodside];
Super heavyweight - Dmitriy Teplitskiy [Ladder 173] vs. Josh Bungalso [Woodside]; and
Welterweight - Brenden O’Neil [Astoria Boxing Club] vs. Randy Martinez [Bronxchester Gym].
St. Camillus is located at 99-15 Rockaway Beach Blvd in Rockaway, Queens. The first bout begins at 7:30 p.m. [gates open at 6:30 p.m.], and tickets are pegged at $40, $60 ringside and $100 ringside table
