Photo of the Day: Today and tomorrow, June 25 and 26, marks the 150th anniversary of the Battle of the Little Big Horn, or the Battle of the Greasy Grass as it was known to the Lakota Sioux and other native tribes. The battle was a defeat for the U.S. Seventh Cavalry under Lieutenant George Armstrong Custer. Among the U.S. dead was captain Myles Keogh (pictured) a native of Leighlinbridge, County Carlow. Many of the U.S. dead were natives of Ireland, or Irish American. Photo Denver Library Digital Collection.
