Poetry's Home

Pic of Day: President Catherine Connolly unveils the plaque at the official opening of No. 11 Parnell Square East in Dublin Thursday. Number 11 will be Ireland’s Home for Poetry and Heritage, a shared cultural headquarters for Poetry Ireland/Éigse Éireann and the Irish Heritage Trust. The restored Georgian protected structure was refurbished through a €5.5 million conservation program. It will house The Seamus Heaney Poetry Library, featuring the late Nobel laureate’s private collection donated by his family, alongside the Austin Clarke Poetry Collection and a contemporary poetry library.
