Taking 'Inspiring Investments' as its theme, the 18th annual Golden Bridges conference spotlighting Northwest Ireland will take place on Thursday 12 November in Babson College, Wellesley, MA.
Key guests will include Irish Minister of Higher and Further Education, Research, Innovation and Science James Lawless, Mayor Grace Uí Niallais of Derry City and Strabane District Council and Cllr Gary Doherty, Cathaoirleach of Donegal County Council.
Increasingly viewed as one economic region, counties Derry and Donegal work closely together to promote its tourism offering and investment proposition. In particular the universities in Derry and Letterkenny, Co Donegal, Magee College of Ulster University and Atlantic Technological University have cooperated to attract growing student populations to the Northwest.
Baked by an influential cohort of Honorary Chairs, the Golden Bridges conference will also include presentation of Golden Bridges Ambassador Awards to leading Irish American advocates of transatlantic co-operation. This year's honorees will include Mary Swanton of the Irish Pastoral Center in Boston, musician Declan Houton and Steve Burke who has pioneered a Boston-Belfast hockey exchange for young people.

You can see the full program for Golden Bridges online. There are still some tickets for the conference luncheon available at the event website.
Said Connla McCann, co-founder of Golden Bridges: "It's always a delight to bring a stellar delegation from Northwest Ireland to the Boston region and to base ourselves in Babson — America's Number One University in the annual WSJ listing — where the welcome from President Spinelli and key college leaders Katherine Craven and Kevin Sullivan is the epitome of Irish American hospitality."
Sponsors of the 18th Golden Bridges conference include Tourism Ireland, the Derry and Donegal Councils and the Northern Ireland Bureau, whose deputy director Chyanne Holmes will close the conference.
