Shefflin to manage Kilkenny's U-20s squad

Following his loss as senior manager of Ballyhale Shamrocks to Wexford’s St Martins in the Leinster SH club final, Henry Shefflin has left that role and has been appointed as Kilkenny's Under-20 manager.

Shefflin, who won three All Ireland hurling titles as a Kilkenny player, led his home club to two All-Irelands in his first spell as manager in 2019 and 2020, before leaving to take over Galway for three years and then returning to the Shamrocks last year.

Ballyhale chairperson Aidan Cummins said: “Henry is manager of the U-20 hurling side for the county and is starting a new business so it's understandable he can't maintain everything.

“We set out a goal at the start of the year to be competitive again and achieved the Leinster win. We're very thankful to Henry and his backroom teams and wish him well in everything he is doing going forward.”
