Rockaway Craic for 11th year

As the halfway point to St. Patrick’s is marked today, Craic Fest continues its cultural celebrations this week to mark the occasion.

A one-day event on this Saturday, Sept. 20, at Rockaway Craic Fest will see a myriad of Irish culture, music, and most notably an Oyster Pop Up at Connolly’s bar aptly nestled in Rockaway Beach. The music guests gracing Connolly’s include the Rockawades, Bobby Butler and a lineup of surprise musicians and Irish step dancers.

Whilst summer may be behind us, Craic Fest promises one more oyster-cracking outing by the sea. The proceeds from the Pop Up will be going towards Craic Fest 2026, every last shell ensuring the Irish diaspora continues to stay visible in New York City.

Craic Fest producer Terence Mulligan is excited to once more honor the Irish of Rockaway. “Rockaway is a densely populated Irish community, and this is our 11th year of this event. It’s great to showcase local Irish musicians from Rockaway. We have a 50/50 we are doing as well where the winner will be drawn at the event with proceeds going to the CraicFest in March.”
