Pic of Day: No, this is not a stray pirate ship from the Caribbean but rather the Russian sailing ship The Shtandart, which has attracted public and media interest over the last few days as it anchored in Dublin Bay. The Shtandart is an exact replica of the first flagship of the Russian navy which was constructed by Tsar Peter the Great in 1703. Because it is Russian - though lately flying the flag of the Cook Islands and the captain asserting that he does not support Vladimir Putin - the ship comes under EU sanctions and cannot enter Dublin Port. Supplies have to be ferried from shore in a smaller boat. RollingNews.ie photo.
