New York to face Offaly in Tailteann prelim QF

After the exploits of New York hurlers returning to Irish soil to win the Lory Meagher Cup against Cavan in Croke Park last Saturday the Big Apple’s senior footballers have a chance of creating a rare double victory when they take on Offaly in Tullamore this Saturday, June 7.

Following a fine showing against Galway and with Offaly jaded after a gruelling season in which they won Division 3 before losing out in the Leinster championship to beaten finalists Meath, this could be a real chance for Ronan McGinley’s charges to cause an upset against Mickey Harte’s men.

Elsewhere, Sligo, semi-finalists last year, have home advantage against Carlow. Wexford will welcome Antrim to Chadwicks Wexford Park and a midlands derby sees Laois travel to TEG Cusack Park to do battle with Westmeath.
