The Kylemore Abbey Team was in New York last week to thank Irish American supporters who made possible the completion of a new Monastery, Education and Retreat Centre for the growing community of nuns and visiting pilgrims — hailed as the most important project in the 350-year history of the Benedictines in Ireland. The new facility was voted Ireland's favourite building in 2025. Leafing through a book about the restoration and new build project at a reception in honour of the Abbey's Big Apple donors were Sr Magdalena Fitzgibbon OSB and Liz McConnell from Kylemore with benefactor Dan Cremins, COO of Kalikow. "We are very grateful to Dan, who visited Kylemore earlier this year with his family, for generously hosting the celebratory reception at Club 101 in the stunning Kalikow skyscraper at 101 Park Avenue," said Kylemore Trust Executive Director Liz McConnell. Anyone who wishes to support the ongoing work at Kylemore Abbey in Co. Galway can email Ms McConnell at this link.
