Snow On The High Ground

Lugnaquilla Mountain in County Wicklow, Leinster's highest peak, under a blanket of snow. The photo foreground shows the bell tower of St. Brigid’s Church in the Curragh Army Camp in County Kildare. Members of the public are currently required to stay within their 5k travel area to help combat the spread of the Covid-19 virus and have been asked to especially stay away from mountains, this to ensure that mountain rescue teams are not put at risk. So Lugnaquilla, "Lug" to those who like to hike to its 3035 foot summit, is being left to its own thoughts, whatever a mountain's thoughts are. Photo by Eamonn Farrell/RollingNews.ie.
