Fay to host online remembrance forum

The Astoria Historical Society, together with the Lavender and Green Alliance, is hosting a presentation with Brendan Fay tonight Thursday, July 9 at 7 p.m. The presentation is entitled "At Pride – Remembering Irish advocates for LGBT equality and inclusion." It will be devoted to the memory of Tarlach MacNiallais (1962-2020), Barbara Heffernan Mohr (1933-2015), Robert Rygor (1953-1994), and Stanley Rygor (1926-2019). Brendan Fay (pictured) is an Irish human rights activist and filmmaker. He lives in Astoria, Queens. For his work on human rights Brendan was among the recipients of the Presidential Distinguished Service Award for the Irish Abroad presented by Irish President Michael D. Higgins on December 8, 2016.
