Thank you!

Every evening at 7 p.m., New Yorkers are showing their appreciation to health-car workers by cheering and applauding from rooftops, apartment windows and sidewalks. Here, workers at Long Island Jewish Forest Hills on 102nd Street in Queens acknowledged last Saturday evening's expressions of gratitude. The death from COVID-19 of 34-year emergency room clerk Prea Nankieshore, who'd worked at LIJ-Forest Hills since 2013, was announced a few days earlier. The Ozone Park resident was the mother of twin 8-year-old boys. PHOTO BY PETER MCDERMOTT
