The Irish government will be rolling out the red carpet later this week for the visiting congressional delegation being led by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

The delegation is set to visit Dublin, the North, a location on the border, and London.

President Michael D. Higgins will host “a working meeting” for the delegation on Wednesday, according to a release from his official residence, Áras an Uachtaráin.

The visitors, said the release, will be holding high-level discussions with senior government officials and civil society leaders in London, Dublin and Northern Ireland.

The members of the congressional delegation meeting President Higgins are: Speaker Nancy Pelosi; Chairman Richard Neal, Ways & Means Committee; Congressman John Larson, Ways & Means Committee: Congressman Brian Higgins, Ways & Means Committee and Budget Committee;

Congressman Joe Courtney, Armed Services Committee and Education & Labor Committee; Congresswoman Suzan DelBene, Ways & Means Committee; Congressman Dan Kildee, Ways & Means Committee Congressman Brendan Boyle, Ways & Means Committee and Budget Committee, and

Congressman Steven Horsford, Ways & Means Committee, Budget Committee and Natural Resources Committee.

The committee memberships of the visitors, all of them Democrats, are an indicator of the likely main topics of the meetings with their Irish hosts - Brexit and trade.
