Pendulum Summit swings into New York

Frankie Sheahan (center) packing down for Munster against the All Blacks

When it comes to getting up close and personal with like-minded folks it’s hard to beat the front row of a rugby scrum.

When it comes to getting up close and personal with yourself it might be an idea to follow in the footsteps of Frankie Sheahan, a man who knows front rows all too well, but is lately pushing the idea that people can better get to know themselves in a somewhat looser, and certainly less sweaty, space.

Sheahan played Hooker for Ireland and Munster so it’s fair to say he’s not lacking for self-confidence.

But life being the biggest pitch of all it can be difficult at times to match success in your preferred sport with ambitions in your working and personal life.

Sheahan, after he hung up his cleats, realized this was very much the case.

As all of us do, he was now standing on his own two feet - but without a prop forward on either side of him.

So what to do?

Well, what Sheahan did was to become founder and event director of what he describes as the “hugely successful Pendulum Summit, the world's leading business and self-empowerment summit.”

Naturally, if you claim to be the leading anything in the world it is necessary, and inevitable, that at some point you lay claim to such prominence in arguably the world’s most prominent city, New York.

The Pendulum Summit is coming to New York on Thursday, September 13.

“Pendulum has exploded over the past five years with five sell-out events in Dublin where, last January, we saw 7,000 attendees over two days,” said Sheahan.

“This September 13th we are bringing Pendulum to New York as part of our global expansion. Companies as diverse as Amazon, Coca Cola, Novartis, AIG and J&J are frequent attendees and have commented on how Pendulum supercharges their executive teams and that the ripple effect of the insights they gain are felt throughout the organization,” he said.

“Previous summit speakers include Sir Richard Branson, Bob Rotella, Joe Schmidt, Conor McGregor, Tony Robbins, Robin Sharma, Jo Malone MBE, Paul O'Connell, Chris Hadfield, Randi Zuckerberg to name a few,” Sheahan added.

Pendulum Summit New York is a one day event that, according to a release, “brings together hundreds of senior-level decision makers from across all industries to learn from and be inspired by some of the world's most renowned figures from business and self-empowerment.

“Offering a unique blend of ideas and inspiration, Pendulum Summit focuses on the issues most relevant to today’s business people, stimulating new thinking and motivating action.

“As the world's leading business and self-empowerment summit, transforming the lives of 16,000+ attendees through its previous five sell out summits in Ireland, Pendulum Summit has chosen New York as part of its global mission.”

The mission being global the speakers and subject areas are, not surprisingly, diverse and varied.

The speaker line-up for New York is billed as: Deepak Chopra MD, Global Force in the field of Human Empowerment; Jack Canfield, America’s #1 Success Coach; Suzy Welch, Leading Business and Life Strategist; Steve Forbes, Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of Forbes Media; Nick Santonastasso, Achievement and Peak Performance Influencer; Nataly Kogan, Tech Entrepreneur and Corporate Wellness Expert; Walter O’Brien, Founder and CEO of Scorpion Computer Services and the inspiration behind the hit CBS drama, Scorpion; Julia Ormond, Emmy Award-Winning Actress (Legends of the Fall, First Knight, Curious Case of Benjamin Button), United Nations Goodwill Ambassador and Human Rights Advocate.

The New York Summit is set for the PlayStation Theater, 1515 Broadway at West 44th Street in Midtown Manhattan. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. though the doors will open at 7.30 a.m. More at
