A charity with a big heart

Heart disease is the number one killer in Ireland and the County Mayo Foundation is marking World Heart Day, that being today, Sept. 29, by assisting Croí, the West of Ireland Cardiac Foundation, with a crowd funding campaign in the U.S. Donations to the “Mayo Action for Heart Disease & Stroke” can be made through the County Mayo Foundation website at https://countymayofoundation.org/mayo-action-on-heart-disease-and-stroke/. More information about the program can be found at https://www.croi.ie/. All donations made in the U.S. are tax deductible. Pictured are Frank Delaney and Lorraine Peters in the Croi apartments following Peters’ heart surgery in 2012 while holidaying in Ireland. Delaney was referred to Croi House by University Hospital Galway’s cardiovascular care unit.
