Carl Frampton, his manager Barry McGuigan and Andres Gutierrez at the Europa Hotel in Belfast earlier today announcing a Frampton/Gutierrez WBC featherweight title eliminator at SSE Arena in the city on July 29. The 23-year-old Mexican Gutierrez has won 35 fights and lost 1. Frampton defeated Leo Santa Cruz last year in New York for the WBA title but lost it in a rematch in Las Vegas in January. Frampton told today’s press conference that he is still hopeful of a third fight with Santa Cruz, who had turned down the offer of a rematch this summer in the UK.
