Ciara is Irish hope in Wanamaker

There are no Irishmen running in the famed Wanamaker Mile at tomorrow’s Millrose Games at the Armory in Manhattan but in form Ciara Mageean - who recently smashed the Irish indoor 1500 meter record in Karlsruhe, Germany - will be competing in the women’s Wanamaker event. Mageean, who is from County Down, has already qualified for the Olympics in Rio. Two Irish milers, including John Coghlan, son of Wanamaker legend Eamonn, will be running in the Armory Invitational Mile. More on the Millrose Games at www.nyrrmillrosegames.org. INPHO photo.
