McPherson takes up new post

CALDWELL, NJ --- Millennium Strategies has announced that Bernadette P. McPherson, Esq. will be joining the firm as the Senior Vice President of Marketing and Business Development. Millennium Strategies is a full-service grant writing and economic development firm serving local and county governments, non-profits, and private corporations.

McPherson, a former Irish Echo Law and Order award winner, was born in Philadelphia and was awarded a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and English Magna Cum Laude from La Salle University in 1983. She received her Juris Doctorate from Temple University School of Law in 1986.

In 1999, McPherson was first elected to office as a Councilwoman in Rutherford, New Jersey. she went on to serve as the mayor of Rutherford from 2000 to 2007. As a member of the Bergen County Board of Chosen Freeholders from 2003 to 2011, McPherson served as director in 2004 and 2005 and chaired the Law and Public Safety Committee from 2004 to 2010. Since August 2011, she has served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
