No surprise, but Irish beef makes a very good patty.

McDonald's in Ireland increased its exports of Irish-sourced produce to €200 million in 2011, up €40 million since 2008, the Dublin-published Sunday Business Post has reported

According to McDonald's, it also increased its exports of Irish beef to €110 million in 2011, up from €80 million in 2008. Ireland also supplies dairy produce and eggs to the McDonald's system.

The company also said it uses 40,000 tons of Irish beef every year and that one in every five hamburgers sold across Europe is now made from Irish beef. McDonald's employs nearly 4,000 people in Ireland.
