You can call him the traveling Taoiseach.

Enda Kenny had hardly departed American shores last week before he was packing his bags for a return flight across the Atlantic.

Kenny, this time on his own, will undertake a series of engagements in three states over the next three days. The three states are New Jersey, New York and Massachusetts. Following hard on the heels of his attendance last week at an investment forum at New York University convened by former president Bill Clinton, Kenny will later today visit the Merck, Sharpe & Dohme facility in Whitehouse Station, New Jersey.

Later, he will attend a reception and dinner in aid of the Children's Medical Research Foundation at the New York Athletic Club in Manhattan.

On Thursday, Kenny will meet with Mayor Michael Bloomberg and attend a Tourism Ireland lunch before departing for Boston, there to deliver a lecture at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard.

Later, and among other stops, the taoiseach will meet with top business leaders at a dinner hosted by the American Ireland Fund. On Friday, Mr. Kenny will be the guest of honor at a breakfast hosted by the Irish American Partnership. Later, he will meet with Governor Deval Patrick.

Following a visit to the Kennedy Library and Presidential Museum, the taoiseach will attend a lunch hosted by Enterprise Ireland, also at the JFK Library.

Kenny's quick return to American soil follows his meeting with business leaders at an investment roundtable during the NYU event, after which he delivered a speech to a gathering under the banner of the Global Irish Network.

In it, Mr. Kenny outlined his government's plans for deepening economic links between Ireland and the United States. Please see editorial, Page 15.
