NY AOH gathering hailed as success

The New York State conventions of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, men and ladies, were being hailed as a success by attendees at the gathering last week in Pearl River, Rockland County.

The biennial gathering was sold out, according to one Hibernian who spoke to the Echo.

The conventions were held in the Pearl River Hilton where a number of rooms were assigned to the business and social aspects over five day days. Speakers included Fr. Sean McManus and Matt Morrison, a member of the group known as "the deportees" and president of "Thar Saile, prisoners of peace," who had traveled to Pearl River from St. Louis, Missouri.
