Clooney to hog Irish roads

Let's hope he keeps to the correct side of the road.

Hollywood star George Clooney is gearing up for an Irish road trip next April on his Harley Davidson.

Clooney, urged on by U2's Bono, is finally set to take the trip after several postponements.

"It's finally happening," Clooney told the Cork-published Irish Examiner in Toronto during the city's recent film festival.

"I ran into Bono here in Toronto, who was in town for the documentary about U2, and he's as much of a bike nut as I am. He started telling me about lots of cool places I should check out, so I've committed to going there in April."

Likely stopovers on Clooney's road trip will be counties with which he has family connections.

Clooney's father's great-great-grandfather, Nicholas Clooney, came from County Kilkenny. His father's mother's maiden name was Guilfoyle, which, the Examiner reported, is a name most associated with County Clare.
