Diversity visa meeting

The Emerald Isle Immigration Center in New York is offering free assistance for diversity "DV" green card lottery hopefuls up to the close of the U.S. State Department's application period on Nov. 5.

"The green card lottery is a yearly opportunity for qualified applicants who are legally in the United States or overseas to attain permanent resident status here with no strings attached", said EIIC's immigration legal services director, John Stahl.

The center will hold a public meeting this evening at it Queens office, 59-26 Woodside Ave, in Woodside. On Thursday there will be a meeting at the Bronx EIIC office, 4275 Katonah Ave in Woodlawn. Both meetings are from 6 to 8 p.m.

Diversity visa inquiries may be made to the EIIC at the Woodside office (718)478-5502, or at the Woodlawn office at (718)324-3039, or on the EIIC website www.eiic.org. Both centers, along with the Aisling Irish Community Center on McLean Avenue in Yonkers, phone(914)237-5121, are now scheduling DV applications.
