What it taught me My work as a union organizer provided me with a deeper appreciation and understanding of the contributions made by the working families in this country. Labor leaders through out history have led the way for many important victories for millions of workers, particularly Irish Americans. The contributions continue, and I want to be a part of the work that makes a difference. Status Single Family Jack, my six-year-old son. Three things people would be surprised to know about me 1. Hosted two Presidents of Ireland in Philadelphia and never been to Ireland. 2. Walked my first picket line at six years old. 3. First female and youngest Political Director for the Philadelphia AFL-CIO. Best advice you could give someone starting out The Good Lord gave you two ears and one mouth, for a reason: listen!
