David O'Leary / 2010 Top 40 Under 40

Age 25 Place of Birth Dublin Where you live Westchester, NY First Job Emptying the trash in Tesco car park in Gorey, Co. Wexford. What it taught me To respect people who work in any service industry as quite often people can be extremely rude over the smallest of inconveniences. Also, that people sometimes see no difference between "in the can" and "beside the can"! Status Single Three things people would be surprised to know about me 1. I am golf crazy and worked as a caddie to pay for my tuition in New York. 2. Speaking in public terrifies me. If I have to sing too, then it's no problem! 3. I have a degree in French and taught kindergarten in Quebec for a year. Best advice you could give someone starting out Hard work is enjoyable if it is something that you love so don't be afraid to spend time carefully choosing your career path. Once chosen, dedicate yourself to it and set goals. Once the first goal is achieved then you have your momentum. There is no room for negativity; setbacks happen everyone. If you can take them in your stride and learn from them, then everything will work out.
