Teaching dance at summer camp What it taught me Patience! And, the realization that teaching is alot like performing in that you have to be engaging in order to hold the students' attention, you have to be able to improvise in case your plans go awry, and you have to be attuned to the response from the group. Status Married Family Husband David Byrne & daughter Cavan Eileen Byrne (17 months) Three things people would be surprised to know about me: 1. I love to cook and to create my own recipies. 2. My family lived in Germany when I was young and I'm well versed in the language. 3. In June, I'll begin doctoral coursework leading to a PhD in Dance.

Best advice you could give someone starting out Be persistent. Be open-minded. Be true to yourself.
