Following in the foot steps of great Irish American leaders, Brendan Gill, a lifelong resident of Montclair, New Jersey, has dedicated his professional career to public service. Brendan's father, a thirty-year middle school history teacher, instilled an early love for politics and government as dinner time conversation often centered around the current political issue of the day. Gill is a third generation Irish American who traces his roots to his great grandparents who immigrated from County Cork and County Mayo.

Gill has served as a State Director for Senator Lautenberg since 2007. He also managed Senator Lautenberg's 2008 successful primary and reelection campaigns, helping Senator Lautenberg become the longest-serving U.S. Senator in New Jersey's history. Prior to working for Senator Lautenberg, Gill held a variety of federal and state leadership positions including District Director for Reps. Bill Pascrell and Steve Rothman. Gill has also served as Communications Director for the Department of Transportation and Chief of Staff to Assemblyman Peter C. Eagler. In addition, Gill served as statewide field director for Robert Menendez's 2006 Senate Campaign and managed campaigns for Congressman Bill Pascrell, State Senator Nia Gill and other members of the General Assembly. Gill graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Seton Hall University in 1996 and has utilized his time in government to advocate for many different Irish causes, including the asylum case of Malachy McAllister. Gill is a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians and has served as an aid to the Grand Marshal of the Newark St. Patrick's Day Parade and has participated in the West Orange St. Patrick's Day Parade. He has been chairman of the Montclair Democratic Committee since 2007 and is a former member of the Montclair Planning Board.
