Airport workers accept cuts

The vote, which was carried by 1,121 to 541, will lead to about 300 redundancies at Dublin, Cork and Shannon airports.

The program, which was recommended by union officials, also includes a pay freeze.

In a bid to avoid pay cuts, the plan will also lead to the introduction of a novel "Employee Recovery Investment Contribution" scheme with staff facing pay reductions of on average 5.5 percent.
