Law & Order Honoree

Assistant Chief George W. Anderson joined the New York City Housing Police Department in January 1982 and began his career on patrol in Police Service Area 5. He was promoted to his current rank of Assistant Chief in August 2007. Currently the Commanding Officer of the Police Academy, Assistant Chief Anderson has also commanded the Personnel Bureau's Staff Services Section. He has served as the Executive Officer of the Personnel Bureau and the Police Academy.

Anderson has been married to his wife, Kathryn, a pharmacist, for 23 years, and they are the parents of one daughter, Kaitlyn, who is a competitive Irish Step Dancer at the preliminary champion level and has competed in the All-Irelands in Kerry. Anderson traces his Irish roots to County Cork and serves as the Headquarters Vice President of the NYPD Emerald Society, and is a member of the Advisory Board for the Winged Fist Organization.
