Ex- Queens barman in Dublin drug bust

By Patrick Markey

A former Queens barman from Dublin was arrested in Ireland last week after Gardai discovered him with a kilo of a substance believed to be cocaine, officials and acquaintances of the man said.

Edward McGuirk, who acquaintances in New York City said has worked as a barman in Queens and Manhattan, was arrested in his Rathcool home, where Gardai allegedly found what they believe was a controlled substance, according to a spokeswoman for the Garda National Drugs center. McGuirk has been charged with possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply and is currently out on bail, the spokeswoman said.
