Family: Very proud father of two boys, Shawn is 19 and a college student and Mark is 17 and a high school senior.

First Job: Delivering newspapers at age 12.

What it taught me: It taught me responsibility, the value of earning my own money. It strengthened my work ethic and taught me how to work in the elements.

Best advice you could give someone starting out: Never forget where you came from and to always be yourself.

Who is your hero and why? My father was proud operating engineer of Local 825 for 46 years. He was hardworking, dedicated, strong, smart, honest and a true gentleman. He always had good advice; he didn’t sweat when pushing through hard times.

Biography: Chris Lalevee is a Business Agent for IUOE Local 825. He is the Coordinator of the Local 825 Member Assistance Program (MAP) and of the IUOE’s peer support training program. He is a certified Peer Recovery specialist. Chris has over 30 years in heavy and civil construction as an operator, instructor, mentor, and coach. Chris is active nationally and collaborates with many entities writing or discussing mental health, addiction alongside suicide awareness & prevention.Chris teaches crane courses several times a year at the IUOE Training Center in Crosby, TX with a focus on tower crane operations. 

Chris is often found addressing life issues in construction and discusses the topics through his own lived experiences and safety all while working full time.

Outside of work, Chris is a degreed member of the Ancient Order of the Hibernians, South Amboy, NJ chapter.
