Zach McCue
Where do you live? Cranford, New Jersey.
Current company and position? Chief, Intergovernmental Affairs Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
First job and what it taught me? My first job as a teenager was working at a local restaurant, where I learned the value of hard work and that there’s no substitute for hustle. I also learned how to be part of a team, supporting others when they needed help and asking for help when I needed it myself. Along the way, I had a lot of fun and met some incredible people.
How do you embrace your Irish heritage? I grew up on the Jersey Shore and as a kid attended the Belmar St. Patrick’s Day parade braving the elements every year. My uncle played the bagpipes so I have fond memories of parades and Irish festivals. As an adult, I get to celebrate my Irish heritage with my wife, who is a first generation American. Her parents are from County Cork and we’ve been blessed to take our children to Ireland to meet all of their Irish aunts, uncles and cousins.
Something people would be surprised to know about me... I play two musical instruments.
