Siobhan Ainsworth
Where do you live? Massapequa Park, NY.
Current company and position? As CEO and President of Long Island Igloos, I oversee every facet of the business, from marketing, branding, and networking to client relations and event execution. My role spans website management, social media content creation, contracts and invoicing, insurance and safety compliance, and ensuring exceptional client satisfaction. I work closely with clients to bring their vision to life, blending creativity with logistics, and I’m equally comfortable behind the scenes strategizing as I am on-site overseeing installations. I am extremely proud of how far we’ve come over the last 6 years and how we’ve grown from backyard parties to premium installations at Wollman Rink, Rockefeller Center, Americana Mall, Hilton, and more.
First job and what it taught me? I started my first job when I was 15, clearing tables at a neighborhood restaurant in Massapequa Park. I did this on Thursday nights after commuting to and from Dominican Academy, an all-girl catholic high school on the upper east side. It was humbling, fast-paced, and formative, teaching me to value and respect every person’s role and to take pride in earning every dollar through effort and teamwork.
How do you embrace your Irish heritage? I embrace my Irish heritage through both pride and practice. My husband is from Castlebar, and my grandparents all hailed from Roscommon and Leitrim, roots that deeply shape who we are as a family. My husband, two sons, and I hold dual citizenship, with eight passports in our home, four American and four Irish. We return to Ireland as often as we can. It’s incredibly important to me that my children know where they come from and feel connected to their history. My grandmother’s father was an Arigna coal miner, and visiting the Arigna Mining Experience together last summer was a powerful reminder of the resilience and strength in our lineage. When we’re not in Ireland we stay connected through sports, Sunday fry ups, and music.
Something people would be surprised to know about me... People are often surprised to learn that despite my outgoing and bubbly personality; I’m a true introvert at heart. I genuinely recharge with peace and quiet, preferably with a cup of Barry’s tea in hand. And when it comes to a pint, it’s Guinness or nothing.
