Seamus Keane

Where do you live? New York City.

Current company and position? Co-Owner of The Trinity Gym New York City.

First job and what it taught me? My first job was working in the bog, cutting and footing turf. It taught me the value of hard work in the most literal way possible — long days, physical labor, and the understanding that effort is something you bring with you, not something you wait for. It also taught me early that some things are completely outside your control ... like the weather!

How do you embrace your Irish heritage? I embrace my Irish heritage by staying connected to the Irish community in New York and by returning home several times a year. Here in the city, I stay involved with local Irish groups and make a point of supporting them through the work we do at The Trinity Gym. A big part of our mission is giving back through fitness events, and we often choose Irish organizations like the Aisling Center, Sláinte 2020, and others to benefit from those efforts.

Something people would be surprised to know about me... Most people are surprised to hear that I studied Finance and actually worked on Wall Street when I first moved to New York. After a year, I realized it wasn’t for me and quit to become a fitness trainer instead. Definitely a big change — but the best decision I ever made.
