Justin Maloney

Where do you live? Fort Worth, Texas.

Current company and position? Political Strategy Manager at West Fort Worth Management.

First job and what it taught me? My first official job was at American Eagle. It was a brand-new location in the outlet mall a 5-minute walk from my neighborhood. We started with a bare store and built it out, walls, shelving, furniture, decor, and all. It taught me how satisfying seeing a finished product born out of hard work and collaboration with dozens of people from different backgrounds can be. Working retail also taught me early on how to face failure and how to recover from it. Failing to sell a customer a complete outfit when they only came in looking for jeans gave me a great jump on preparing for encounters with voters that aren't interested in buying a candidate that I'm selling.

How do you embrace your Irish heritage? As the Texas Hibernians Secretary, DFW Michael Collins Division Sentinel, and Irish American Society of Dallas member, I do my best to build up the community on a daily basis. Whether that's by organizing, bringing new ideas to the table, educating those around me, or supporting others in DFW who also take interest in their heritage. Irish American history is all around us, and I think it's important to celebrate that. We are part of the most prolific diaspora in human history, we owe it to those before us, who lived much tougher lives than us, to keep the tradition, language, and culture alive and thriving. Above my desk in my office is a framed version of the infamous "Irish Need Not Apply" posting. It's a reminder of what my family and so many others fought through when they first came to America and a good motivator to never take anything for granted. Now in 2026, cities all across America shutdown every March to celebrate St. Patrick and the contributions Irish Americans have made in this country. I think that's an amazing testament to the work ethic of those that came before us and is something I try to embody every day.

Something people would be surprised to know about me... In 2023 I rescued a Half Bluetick Coonhound - Half Bloodhound. He was the runt of his litter and born with symmetrical alopecia, but is as fierce as a lion. Given his breed is the state dog of Tennessee, I named him "Leb," short for my hometown of Lebanon, TN.
