Julianne Cox
Where do you live? Chicago.
Current company and position? Invest Northern Ireland, VP, Business Development, Foreign Direct Investment.
First job and what it taught me? My first job was babysitting. It taught me life skills like responsibility and patience. It also set me up to be able to manage unpredictable situations!
How do you embrace your Irish heritage? I was raised in Kerry. I grew up loving Irish literature and plays. My bookshelf is filled with books by my favorite Irish authors which I read and re-read - writers like Sally Rooney, Anne Enright, Donal Ryan, Colin Barrett, and Claire Keegan. All my family is based in Ireland so I travel back and forth between Chicago and Ireland on a very regular basis! Embracing my Irish heritage is also an important part of my role at Invest Northern Ireland where I promote Northern Ireland as a location for US firms to build a team.
Something people would be surprised to know about me... I love sad books, music, and plays. I really appreciate the deeply tragic plays of Martin McDonagh.
