Daniel Mc Namara
Where do you live? Tampa Bay, FL.
Current company and position? Hawk Operations Inc. - Senior Accounting Director.
First job and what it taught me? My first job was as a golf caddy in the summer at the age of 13. With me standing a towering 4'11 and weighing 80 lbs. soaking wet, the golf bags were as big as I! The job really instilled in me the value of an earned dollar and to "eat what you kill". I would arrive at 6:00 am and could be there for 5 hours only to not get selected by any golfers that day, pocketing $0!
How do you embrace your Irish heritage? I embrace and honor my Irish heritage by staying close to the traditions and values that have been passed down through my family. As a proud member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, I have the opportunity to celebrate and promote our culture, support charitable efforts, and share in the sense of community that has always defined the Irish experience. It keeps me connected not only to my ancestry, but to a living, vibrant tradition. We have a vast diaspora that is recognized globally as having spread goodwill throughout the world so with the cultural dilution currently taking place in our Motherland combined with the ancestorial connection decaying with the younger generation of Irish Americans, I heed the call to ensure the Celtic spirit survives and prospers.
Something people would be surprised to know about me... I was born with bright red hair and webbed toes.
