Colin Flynn
Where do you live? Boston MA.
Current company and position? Vice President & Wealth Advisor, JPMorgan Chase.
First job and what it taught me? My first job was as an extra on a film set. As a child, my mother and sisters drove to Montana to visit my father, who was a theatrical Teamster working on "The Horse Whisperer". My sister Shannon and I ended up working as extras for the day. That experience planted two seeds that have stayed with me ever since—a love of storytelling and an early curiosity about investing. I took the money I earned and bought shares of Boeing because I loved airplanes, and I’ve spent the rest of my life refining both my appreciation for stories and how capital can help bring them to life.
How do you embrace your Irish heritage? Our Irish heritage has been a constant in my life, across both hemispheres. From Irish dancing with my sister Shannon at a school assembly in New Zealand when I was six, to Gaelic football throughout my childhood and teens—first with the Rangers under Dennis Twomey and later representing New York at the Féile Peile na nÓg in Galway—it has always been a source of identity and connection. In college, my study of Irish history was shaped as much by conversations with my father and uncles as it was by formal coursework. In my twenties, that connection continued through volunteering with the Rockland County Ancient Order of Hibernians alongside Tom Leavey. Today, my Irish heritage remains deeply rooted, particularly through St. Barnabas in the Bronx with Father Brendan Fitzgerald, St. Columbkille in Brighton, Massachusetts with Father Richard Fitzgerald, Sacred Heart in Yonkers, New York with the Friars, The Friendly Sons of St. Patrick - Westchester with Richard O’Neill Sr. and The Charitable Irish of Boston alongside Jim Foley. It’s a heritage rooted in community, service, and faith—one I carry with me in everything I do.
Something people would be surprised to know about me... I pray the rosary daily and serve as Founder and CEO of Hills and Thrills Productions, Inc., a 501(c)(3) entertainment company using the power of storytelling to raise monies for charity and create upward mobility for artists and entertainment professionals. Our most recent feature film, Ciao Mama, had its world premiere in June at the Dances With Films festival at the Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, where it won the Audience Award, and later had its East Coast premiere in October at the Chelsea Film Festival in New York City. Through the project—and with the support of our donors, family, and friends—we helped provide upward mobility to more than a dozen artists and entertainment professionals, while raising funds for the American Cancer Society and a scholarship in memory of our producer and co-lead actor, Johnny Wactor, whose life was tragically taken shortly after filming.
